New Application

On Saturday, my dad and I sat down and looked at alternate schools I can apply to and paid for some other ones. I applied to Middle Tennessee State University and paid for University of New Haven. We even looked at me applying to Hampton and Belmont University. We looked at the colleges that offered me a B.S. instead of a B.A. or B.M. That way I wouldn't have to audition and I would be getting into the correct programs.

1st of Many

Today I got my first acceptance letter from Washington College with a $60,000 merit-based scholarship. I was excited but I dont think I'm going there because I only applied because it was free. It as nice for them to offer though.

UGH!

So my dad still has yet to pay for my other two colleges. New Haven cost $25 and Lebanon Valley cost $30. I'm a little frustrated because he said we were going to do it for the past 3 weeks. So I'm not sure when it's going to be done. Whatevs kid...

CyberLink You Cam

I love playing around on my new web cam. I do a lot. I take pictures of myself and I do some freestyles listening to instrumentals. It's hilarious because I'm not a good rapper.

Why I Hate Religion, But Love Jesus

Please watch this. It explains the fact that I'm not a religious person. I actually hate being called that, it's an insult. I'm not religious, I'm a CHRISTIAN. A follower of Christ. This is a lifestyle. I know why I exist. I don't need some "religion" to explain it to me.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IAhDGYlpqY&sns=fb

Racism in the Media

Well today in AVID we had a very intense discussion on racism in the media. For some reason it spurred off of Tim Tebow somehow. When Carney made us watch that video comparing Tebow to former Black quarterbacks, it started something. We were first talking about how Tebow is getting more air for being a mediocre quarterback over the older black good quarterbacks. They felt a since of unfairness among that. I feel like if blacks showed themselves up, other races would repect our culture. I've realized blacks are like no other race. We build ourselves up, have all these movements for peace and freedom, and yet, this generation is selfish and we're allowing the media to dictate how our children want to act. Why do young black men want to be thugs, smoke weed, and gang bang. And girls feed into that. So I think that's why most guys act like that to get girls. And I don't know why girls are so easy now-a-days. There's probably a small percentage of virgins in high school. I know not everyone is doing it, I'm not But I feel like what guys and girls listen to is what they're going to become.

Song of the Week

Well it's not really the actual song I like, but just the instrumental. It's called "40 Deep" by Lecrae. He's a Chrsitian rapper. Omg, I'm in love with this beat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Of_Ogmur6-E

But the actual song of the week has been "You Love Me Anyway" by Sidewalk Prophets. It just shows how unconditional God's love is for me and for mankind. Here are the lyrics:

The question was raised
As my conscience fell
A silly, little lie
It didn’t mean much
But it lingers still
In the corners of my mind
Still you call me to walk
On the edge of this world
To spread my dreams and fly
But the future’s so far
My heart is so frail
I think I’d rather stay inside

But You love me anyway
It’s like nothing in life that I’ve ever known
Yes You love me anyway
Oh Lord, how You love me
How You love me

It took more than my strength
To simply be still
To seek but never find
All the reasons we change
The reasons I doubt
And why do loved ones have to die?

But You love me anyway
It’s like nothing in life that I’ve ever known
Yes You love me anyway
Oh Lord, how You love me

I am the thorn in Your crown
But You love me anyway
I am the sweat from Your brow
But You love me anyway
I am the nail in Your wrist
But You love me anyway
I am Judas’ kiss
But You love me anyway

See now, I am the man who yelled out from the crowd
For Your blood to be spilled on this earth shaking
ground
Yes then, I turned away with a smile on my face
With this sin in my heart tried to bury Your grace
And then alone in the night, I still called out for You
So ashamed of my life, my life, my life

But You love me anyway
It’s like nothing in life that I’ve ever known
Yes,You love me anyway
Oh Lord, how You love me
You love me, yes You love me
How You love me
How You love me
How You love me

BTW

By the way, I got my class ring. It has the school shield on one side, the Bible and cross on the other side. It has my name and 2012, on the top of the sides. It has New Town High School on the parimeter of the jewel. The jewel in the middle is a Ruby, my birth stone. It also has Alyssa Foy engraved on the inside. I got this for Chrsitmas too. My dad surpised me. I wear it all the time and preserve it in its ring box.

You Know What Grinds My Gears?

You know what really grinds my gears? Being politically correct. I absolutely hate that term. Why do people have to say Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas? I know some people don't celebrate it but the day still exist so why can't I say it? It's offensive to non-Christians? Bullcrap! Saying X-Mas is personally disrespectful and offending to me as a Christian. Taking CHRIST out of CHRISTmas is wrong. That's why it's named that. He's the reason for the season. I know some people celebrate Hanukkah and Kwanza but if most of the holiday marketing is set toward Christmas anyway, why can't commercials say Merry Chrsitmas. Or like saying God or Jesus, unless used in vain, is wrong in the media or the education system is wrong. I can't pray in school but people can wear yamakas and Islamic headwrap to school? That doesn't sound fair. I'm not bashing religions but the fact God and Jesus is being removed from education and we HAVE to learn about evolution is utterly itiotic. MAN, Z POLITICAL CORRECTNESS!

FINALLY

I finally completed and submitted my application to American University. I now just have to pay for my Lebanon Valley, New Haven, and William Paterson applications. But hopefully those won't matter because I really want to be an American Ealge by the time the fall of 2012 hits.

Lion King...ON STAGE!

Yesterday, my boyfriend took me to see Lion King at the Hippodrome. It was very nice of him. The show was amazing. The back drops, costumes, puppets, and of course the music was outstanding. Unfortunately, we didn;t get to sit next to each other and we had "limited view" seats. I was on row U and he was on row O. The show was sold out so that's probably why. I personally advise everybody to see that show, whether in New York or on their tour.

2012

Geez it's been a minute. I haven't blogged since before the Christmas break. Here are some of the things I got for Christmas. A HP Laptop, some clothes, $45 in cash, $10 Qdoba gift card, and a $25 gift card for Bath and Body Works. Here are some pictures from my new webcam!

I rang in the New Year at chruch, always. We were singing forever because we originally prepared 1 song and eventually singing 3. We had to elongate one because it was like 11: 50 and the song was not that long. I love my new laptop.
